By Day 3, something had shifted.
The ladies arrived at our morning Yoga Trapeze session with noticeably more confidence than they had on the first day. The uncertainty had disappeared, replaced by curiosity, laughter, and a growing trust in both themselves and the practice.
With that confidence came the opportunity to introduce a few gentle inversions. Watching everyone embrace the challenge with such enthusiasm was a joy, and it was wonderful to see how much progress had been made in just a couple of days.
After our practice, we enjoyed another delicious and nourishing breakfast before setting off to explore the incredible beauty and rich history of Amorgos on a guided island tour.
Our first stop was the breathtaking Monastery of Panagia Chozoviotissa, dramatically built into the cliffs overlooking the sparkling Aegean Sea. The climb of over 300 steps was well worth the effort, rewarding us with spectacular panoramic views that simply took our breath away.
Once inside, we were privileged to receive a private tour of this remarkable monastery. Steeped in history and spirituality, it offered a fascinating glimpse into the island's heritage and left us all with a deep appreciation for this extraordinary place.
Our journey then continued to the beautiful Church of Agia Anna, one of Amorgos' most iconic locations. Perched above the sea, the scenery was nothing short of spectacular. Below us, the crystal-clear turquoise waters invited us in, and many of us couldn't resist taking a refreshing swim in what felt like one of the most beautiful natural settings on the island.
Our final stop was the charming capital village of Chora.
With its whitewashed buildings, winding cobbled alleyways, colourful bougainvillea, and traditional boutiques, Chora perfectly captures the timeless beauty of the Greek islands. We spent the afternoon wandering through its picturesque streets, browsing local shops, and soaking up the relaxed atmosphere.
Of course, no visit would be complete without a little indulgence. Some of us treated ourselves to the most delicious homemade ice cream from Mikraki, while others enjoyed a leisurely lunch in one of the village's welcoming cafés, taking time to savour both the local flavours and the slower pace of island life.
After a wonderful day of exploration, we returned to the hotel for a gentle evening yoga session. It was the perfect way to release tired muscles, reconnect with our breath, and reflect on the incredible experiences we had shared throughout the day.
We ended the evening gathered around the dinner table once again, enjoying delicious food, heartfelt conversation, and the growing sense of connection that was blossoming within our retreat family.
Day 3 reminded us that travel isn't simply about seeing new places, it's about experiencing them with presence, curiosity, and gratitude. Amorgos continued to reveal its beauty, and with each passing day, it was quietly leaving its mark on every one of us.
