Island Discovery | Rise & Release Retreat, Greece: Day 3
6 July 2026
Day 3 begins with more trapeze yoga, then takes the group across Amorgos by bus, past the Aegean Sea, through the mountains, and up to a monastery perched on the island.
Day 3, out into the island
We started the morning back on the trapeze, a few of the group were still finding their confidence up there, and honestly, so was I. There's something about Day 3 of a retreat where everyone starts to loosen up, on and off the silk.
Then we swapped the studio for a bus, and spent the afternoon winding across Amorgos, past cliffs dropping straight into the Aegean Sea and up through the mountains. The final stretch wasn't by bus at all, 300 steps, straight up, to a monastery that's been sitting on this island for centuries. Nobody's legs were thanking us by the top, but the view over the Aegean made every single step worth it.
This is very much what a yoga retreat in Amorgos looks like from the inside, it's never just the mat.
Some days on retreat are about going inward, and some are about looking outward, Day 3 was firmly the latter. Those 300 steps up to the monastery turned into their own quiet practice, nobody talked much on the way up, just breath and legs and the sea getting further and further below us. By the top, the group was buzzing. The island does a lot of the work for you, but sometimes you have to climb to earn the view.
